Shane, most likely I would like to have you cut it for me too, if possible.

Thanks

So where are the pictures of these boards?
From experience, I can tell you there's a good bit of color difference with blackwood from board to board, so if #6 & #7 match #1 in the $40 range, then someone could buy that combination.

Also, I would recommend re-numbering these things so there's no confusion between the grade classes...

Charlie, I wasn't upset at all about this, I just didn't know how we got from lumber to sets...Shane explained nicely, thanks.

Pictures please...

Shane, one final (I think) question before I can decide to make an order or not. When do we pay? Before wood is shipped or after it arrives in your shop and prior to you re-shipping it?

Larry, I think the money will be required before the wood is shipped from Aus.

Don, there are no pictures other than the ones in Tim's earlier thread. Tim did state though that each category of woods listed came from the same tree. Tim may have more and may jump in on this.

Arnt, repy done ....sorry been crazy busy!

I am reserving Buttress billet #1 for those that want individual sets.

I will update what is not claimed later this evening.

Again, thanks to Tim for offering this up.

Here are some other examples of the Birdseye and the Buttress. Please disregard the percentage of sapwood on the birdseye as this will be minimal and only on a few boards. My image file of the typical fiddleback blackwood in corrupt but I am trying to get around that.

Please note that all the boards have been visually graded with all defect sections excluded from the offer. Each blackwood type has been derived from a specific log so there will be minimal colour and figure

regards

Tim

Sapwood is fine. It can look quite stunning. I just needed to be clear about the percentage of boards that might have some.

My fellow luthiers I have committed the sin of making a post without proof reading what I have typed.

I wrote:

Here is a picture of some birdseye fiddleback blackwood. I will attempt to get some more images tomorrow for those of you who are keen to purchase this blackwood.

Tony,

I thought the same about my choices....scroll up to the list of billets, your name is on the appropriate chunks-o-wood.

Greg

Done Tom,

As Greg mentioned, I am adding names by editing the list of Billets above and adding your name after your billet choice. This will also let people know what is available.

Thanks

Shane

Shane put me down for one set of fiddleback, if available.

Oh, and make that for the single best set you get.

Sorry, guys! I've got dibs!

Thanks Shane - didnt know you had done that to the upper list - I never really go back to the start of a thread, only the new posts. Great stuff.

ATTN:
I noticed the good size fiddleback boards went pretty fast -
I have been in contact with Tim about getting cured fiddleback airmailed - so if anyone wants a fiddleback board they can take #17 and I will get cured stuff instead, just let me know if you want it.
I thought this might help someone who missed out. On that subject I havent seen Rod True in a while.
Cheers

Just a comment, If it makes shipping easier, feel free to cut my billet #19 into two 24" lengths.
